Obama's Inaguration

I would like to see in Obama’s inauguration is promising more funding towards schools. I think education is the most important in the nation. It is the key to knowledge and power. If we cut down more funding towards schools, there is going to less students in college. There is already a cut in the California state universities and it is sad to here. The tuition is going to be more and it is going to be more competitive than it already is. Personally, I don’t know what the government is thinking cutting down money to schools. If anything , they should cut down on the military. The students are the future and if less students are going to college, than there is not going to have a stabilize nation. Who is going to be the next CEO’s and Doctors? Also, this will lower student’s confidence in applying to college. You will need to have a high GPA and SAT score to get accepted to a California State universities. Another thing that I would like Obama to promise is universal health care. I believe everybody should have health care because health is very important. This will also have more job opportunities in the health department.

Alexandaria House part two

The second time I went to Alexandaria House there was not enough students to tutor so I ended up playing with the student's children. I have experience in watching children because I use to work a preschool for two years so I didn't mind watching them. For children who live in transitional housing, they look at the positive things in life. They are so happy and content with their lives. This girl who is nine is very intelligent. She acting older and I am surprise when she said she was nine. The other two children who were brothers and they seem to like playing at the Alexandaria House because they enjoy playing outside with the equipment. There was no arguments with the children and they were very funny and nice. We played games with them and the time went by fast. I thought the time would go by slow since I was just going to watch the children for four hours. It was actually fun because not only we played game but we played soccer and I like to play soccer. I haven't played soccer in awhile so I was happy we got to play. I like contributing to Alexandaria House because everybody is very friendly. Eventhough they do not know me, they treat me very nice. I would like to back and help with the program they have there whether its daycare or the ESL program. They have different kinds of programs for women and children there. Last semester I got to help with daycare for the three to six years old and so I got to experience two programs there. I would say I like to do the daycare because I am more comfortable being around children since I have experience with children. I never really tutored anyone so I do not know what I am suppose to do. When I tutored Jenny I did not really know waht to do but she made it comfortable for me to help her. I would tutor again so I can gain more experience in tutoring.

Alexandaria House

The first time I went to Alexandria House, I was extremely excited. I enjoy helping others and it makes me feel happy that I made a difference. I got to tutor a girl name Jenny and she was really nice and funny. I helped her with papers that she had to fill out for Alexandria House. I as well helped her with practicing her grammar so she can improve her writing skills. She seemed like she knew what she was doing and she seems fluent in English. She did have some difficulties but they were minor. There was a question and I did not know the answer and I felt embarrassed. She was very nice so she made me feel comfortable tutoring her. When we watched the video, she knew all the answers that they asked. I like tutoring one to one instead of a group because I like to focus and give all my attention to one person. It was a good experience for me to do and I want to go back to tutor again at the ESL classes. I like to give out to the community and I have not helped the community for awhile so I am glad that I did service learning this semester. The ESL class does not have a lot of students that come in so it is hard for us to come tutor because there is not enough students to tutor for.The tutors end up watching the children and I do not mind playing with the children but I rather tutor the students. Hopefully there will be enough students for me to tutor for when I come back agian.
